Fresh, modern Mexican restaurant group set to take Townsville by storm

Zambrero, the bold, healthy, humanitarian fast food chain will open the doors of their 20th store in the heart of Townsville, at 207 Flinders Street East, on the 2nd of May. Franchisees Shaun and Clara McCarthy are no strangers to the area. Originally from Ayr, the couple searched Europe during the course of Shaun’s International Rugby Union career for a concept they could eventually bring back to their hometown. Yet it was ironically in Canberra where they discovered Zambrero and recognised its ‘lunch to late-night’ popularity would score tries with the Townsville crowd. “We’re excited to be opening a Zambrero Franchise here in Townsville,” said McCarthy, “and keen to join the team effort behind plate4plate, which is a huge initiative”.

Zambrero Townsville stands more than a sporting chance with more stores already in them pipe-line for the area and, as rumour has it, NBL Crocodile and NRL Cowboys’ stars already queuing up to make the grade for the grand opening.
